Characteristics, Class, Classification | SAP PM

SAP PM is a software product that manages all the maintenance activities for an enterprise.

Characteristics: Characteristics are defined as the component of information structures. These are the property for describing and distinguishing between objects, such as length, colour, or weight.  To create characteristics we can use CT04

Class: Class is defined as a group of similar objects that are defined according to the common characteristics. A class contains multiple characteristics.  To create a class, we can use CL01.

Classification: Classification is defined as a group of similar objects describing by means of characteristics that they have in common. Grouping similar objects into classes to classify them and make them easier to find. The structure of the classification system consists of 3 steps:

1. Defining the features
2. Creating the classes
3. Assigning the objects
