About this Course

SAP APO Demand Planning (DP) is a set of functionalities that offers forecasting, demand-planning, and Management processes. It integrates with the SAP APO Supply Network Planning and is a very important part of the Organization’s Sales and Planning. Many companies find Demand Planning convenient because of its existence with the same database as that of SAP NetWeaver Business Warehouse and Data Warehousing Solution.

SAP APO Demand Planning can be divided into 2 areas which are the Data Mart and Demand Management Functionalities. Out of this, the Data Mart is basically the BW component with all BW-related transactions. It has been one of the most highly adopted modules in SAP ERP products by businesses because of its continuous improvement in its forecasting capability.

Some of the basic processes involved in Demand Planning include Master Data Setup, Planning Area Administration, Interactive Planning, Forecasting etc. It is mainly divided into two major components with the first half being the Data Warehouse Workbench and the other is the actual Forecasting portion. It is one of the most widely installed applications in SAP SCM.
